With the US 2020 elections right around the corner, non-partisan voter education is of utmost importance, in particular educating the public on the importance of downballot votes. Sari Kaufman, a survivor of the 2018 Parkland shooting and organizer of March for Our Lives, David McAdams of Duke University and Gita Stulberg, a political strategist, this year come together to create MyVoteProject – a new nonpartisan voter education platform arming voters with information on candidates and policies in Florida, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania ahead of November 3.

Since March 2020, 250 volunteers have worked on building the platform which allows users to type in their zip code to find information on those running at their local, state, and national levels within a matter of minutes, as well as details on their policies. 

This year, ballot-by-mail is proving an important voting vehicle – MyVoteProject is providing a quick, easy way for voters using mail or booth voting to get unbiased information in order for them to be armed with the knowledge needed to effectively exercise their right to take part in this year’s democratic process.
